Before I even had kids, my mother-in law-said something that has forever stuck with me. It was probably said in passing, and I don’t even know if she would remember it to be honest, but she said, “nothing means more to me than when someone loves on my baby”. If that ain’t the truth!!
I love this stage of life. Our friends are growing their families, their kids pictures cover our refrigerator doors and I save all of their little drawings and crafts.
The Hershey chocolate onesie that was given to Charlotte will be cherished and passed down to Henry. The Raccoon named “Ziggy” remains a regular favorite giant stuffed animal. The “incredible big sister Charlotte book” was opened right after Henry came home from the hospital. The Anna doll is one of our favorite a movie-time companions. All of these gifts were such a special act of love. Something I hope I can always pass forward.
I was reminded of this today when one of Jacob’s friends brought Charlotte a “doctor kit”. She’s so excited. He doesn’t have kids yet, but I can’t wait until he knows how much this means to a parent.
“Nothing means more than when you love on my babies”.
